African Festivals in November
Durbar Festival: The Durbar festival is a Nigerian festival celebrating two major events; the end of Ramadan (Id-el Fitri) and Ide-el Kabir, commemorating the prophet Ibrahim who sacrificed a ram instead of his son. The festival involves brightly robed Emir's, brilliantly costumed horsemen charging at a fast pace and lots of drumming, dancing and singing.

Mombasa Carnival: Add some spice to your beach vacation on the Indian Ocean and enjoy this wonderful cultural carnival. Musicians and artists from all over Kenya participate as well as representatives of the many different tribes showing off their cultural finery in a parade that snakes down the city's main avenue.

Cape Town World Cinema Festival: Running concurrent with the Sithengi Film & Television Market the festival will showcase over 110 movies, shorts and documentaries. Film houses throughout Cape Town participate and you can view movies from Angola, Brazil, Chile, Mexico, Japan, China, Vietnam, Cuba and of course South Africa. The red carpet will be out at the Artscape every night, which will show movies in contention for the Annual Awards (South Africa's Oscars).
