Travelogue from Lake Eyasi, Tanzania

I recently got a travelogue submitted by Harold Hedin who has just returned from a trip to Lake Eyasi in Tanzania. This is a fairly remote region about an hour drive from the Ngorongoro Crater. The highlight for most visitors is spending time with the tribes that live around Lake Eyasi. Harold got to know both the Datoga people and the Hadzabe. The Hadzabe speak a click language much like the San Bushmen of the Kalahari and they are also hunter-gatherers.
Harold writes: The one village I visited I was able to learn about their culture and traditions from the Chief and his 7th wife. The Chief is in his 70's, but is still a strong influence when it comes to retaining their tribal beliefs and customs. ... read more
