Give A Goat this Christmas

Sunday November 27, 2005
oxfamgoat.jpg My two sons recently received a goat for Christmas (pictured here) which was then passed on to a family in Mauritania who needed it a little more. This wonderful exchange was made possible by Oxfam a British charity which is one of the best organizations working in Africa.

Oxfam has plenty of good gifts you can give away this year; a camel, a calf, a toilet, clean water; a share in a mango plantation and plenty more. You can see which communities your gifts will benefit and with Oxfam's excellent reputation you can be sure it will get to the people who need it most.

You can pay for your donkey or camel online with a credit card and the recipient will get a nice picture with an explanation of the gift, wrapped in a colorful card. It's not too expensive either, a goat will only set you back $40 and it's a lot more useful than a new sweater.
