Africa Cup of Nations

The 2006 Africa Cup of Nations will be held in Egypt from 20 January - 10 February. The Africa Cup of Nations is Africa's most important soccer event. If you have any idea how much Africans love soccer then you'll recognize this is a very big deal.

The tournament will impact those planning a trip to Egypt as well as those traveling in countries whose national teams are playing. If you are planning to be in Morocco, Côte d’Ivoire, Libya, Tunisia, Zambia, Togo, Congo, Angola, Cameroon, South Africa, Guinea, Nigeria, Ghana, Zimbabwe, Senegal or Egypt, then you have to check out the match schedules. Those countries will come to a complete standstill during their matches and if you're in a winning country, you'll get to enjoy some great celebrations.

The matches are played in several venues throughout Egypt so just make sure you have reservations if you are planning a trip. The finals are held in Cairo on the 10th of February and the city may get booked up very quickly.... read more
