Cycling Through the Sahara

Follow me on:

cycling mauritania sahara desert Amaya and Eric are making their way through Africa on two wheels. The couple has recently crossed the Sahara, and after cycling 2000 km's through the desert they've arrived in the Mauritanian capital of Nouakchott. Along the way they've come across some extraordinary sights. There are entire villages in the desert equipped with electricity and water but empty of people. Amaya and Eric have also met French citizens supplementing their income by selling second hand cars in Mauritania which they drive all the way from France.

If you can truly appreciate camel milk on your cornflakes like Amaya and Eric, then you could also be cut out to cycle through 30 countries. Read all about the latest leg of their journey and support CAMFED, the charity they're doing it all for.
