Win a Free Trip to Africa

By March 15, 2007

Follow me on:

New York Times columnist and Pulitzer Prize winner Nick Kristof, is offering one American student and one teacher the opportunity to win a free trip to Africa this summer. The idea is to take you on journey that will open your eyes to the issues and problems Africans face in their daily lives. If you're looking to win a free luxury safari, this is not it.

The winners will travel with Nick through some of the more remote parts of Africa, interviewing among others, doctors, peasants, and community leaders. This will be the second such trip that Kristof has taken. Last summer Mississippi student Casey Parks was the lucky winner and she started her trip in Equatorial Guinea, not a country on the normal tourist trail. Nick can't guarantee a set itinerary, nor what may happen on the trip, but all expenses will be paid including flights, food, visas and some form of accommodation.

I highly encourage everyone who qualifies to take up this offer. Two weeks on a trip like this will change your life, broaden your mind and undoubtedly make you a better person. The deadline for applications is April 6 (2007).

Find out more about the trip here and read Casey Parks blog for an idea of what the trip may entail. To apply online to win this trip click here.
