The Maasai of East Africa

maasaiblog.jpg The Maasai are one of Africa's most recognizable tribes, they live in East Africa and are traditionally nomadic herdsmen. Many tourists who visit the big wildlife parks in Tanzania and Kenya will meet the Maasai because the land used to be part of the tribes' traditional grazing land. While many of the Maasai have been forced to settle and plant crops, there are still large numbers who herd their cattle and lead a traditional lifestyle. The Maasai are easily recognizable because they still wear traditional clothing and jewelry.

Find out more about the tribe and how you can sign up for a cultural tour from my article about The Maasai.
