October Festivals and Events in Africa

Thursday September 18, 2008
abu simbel, egypt October festivals and events in Africa include some fantastic religious celebrations. The biggest party on the continent will no doubt be Eid al-Fitr which marks the end of Ramadan, the Muslim holy month of fasting. Hindus (especially in Mauritius) will be celebrating their biggest holiday, Diwali, the festival of lights. October also brings a popular music festival to Lake Malawi's shores. Sweet dates are celebrated in Morocco and the sunrise will be welcomed in style over the great temples of Abu Simbel in Egypt. Find out more about Africa's October Festivals...
