You are looking at a beautiful fresh water lake that takes up about a third of a landlocked country in Central/Southern Africa. The lake is 360 miles long and 52 miles wide, (hence sometimes known as the "calendar lake"). It is bordered by three countries in total. It is known for its stunning variety of cichlids (colorful freshwater fish), and considered to be one of the cheapest places in the world to get your PADI diving certification. Numerous tranquil bays are lined with golden beaches. There are low-key resorts and campsites dotted along the length of the lake catering to all budgets. Backpackers beware, you may find yourself staying for months... Where is this in Africa?
