Where is This in Africa?

By January 15, 2013

You are looking at a picture I took a few weeks ago. The shy mountain in the background is Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa's tallest mountain. This national park is one of the most popular safari destinations in East Africa. Not only for the magnificent views of Kilimanjaro, but also because it has a huge elephant population. All the members of the "Big Five" are present, along with cheetah, hyena, jackals, giraffe, zebra, wildebeest and many others. While generally dry, a permanent marsh in the park is home to the most contented hippo population I have ever seen. Another highlight of this area is the chance to meet the Maasai and visit their homesteads. Where is this?
