Accra, Ghana's lively capital, is a wonderful place to spend a few days before exploring the rest of the country. Highlights from my last visit included the Artists Alliance Gallery, three stories of wonderful contemporary art showcasing Ghana's considerable talent, and all for sale!
I took a tro-tro and had a fantastic lunch on Labadi beach. Fresh grilled fish with spicy jolof rice, washed down with an ice cold Star beer. The people watching was free, and highly entertaining. I shopped for some eco-friendly souvenirs at Global Mamas in trendy Osu, and got my fill of smells and sights at the bustling Makola Market. I topped it all off with an evening soccer match at the stadium. Accra is safe, fun, and I highly recommend it! Here's a list of what I consider to be -- Accra's Top 10 Attractions.
