Another Attack on Tourists in Cairo
Saturday April 30, 2005
Bomb blasts and gun attacks have been reported in Cairo
today, just three weeks after a nail bomb exploded near a popular tourist bazaar killing 3 and wounding 18 people. Today's attacks also appear to have been targeted at tourists. According to the BBC the first bomb blast was set off near the Egyptian Museum injuring 8 people. A gun attack on a tourist bus occurred near the Citadel and there are reports of a third attack, a bomb blast, in old Cairo.
Three weeks ago I wondered whether the attack that occurred then, would deter anyone from visiting Egypt. The responses I got indicated that people were still eager to visit in the hope that this was an isolated incident. Will today's attacks make you re-think your travel plans? Let us know.
