Overlanding in Africa
Overlanding in Africa is probably the cheapest way to go on safari. A two week tour, including some of the best game parks of Southern Africa, only costs around $800. Overlanding refers to driving through Africa as opposed to flying from place to place. Overland tours are very popular among European and Australian students looking to experience the vastness and diversity of Africa in a safe, yet adventurous, way. Overland trips in Africa can range from 2 weeks to 6 months and usually cover several countries. Overland trucks are well-equipped to deal with the bad roads Africa is notorious for and the guides that travel with the group are extremely knowledgeable and experienced.
When you go Overlanding in Africa you meet more local people than you ever would on a regular safari tour. You also get to visit countries you may not be able to travel around independently. Overlanding is cheap because you camp everywhere and usually the group participates with the cooking, cleaning and setting up of the camp every night. Despite the low cost you still get to experience all the best game parks and beaches Africa has to offer. The more you find out about Overlanding in Africa, the more you're going to want to do it.
