Tuberculosis (TB) Emergency in Africa
As a traveler to Africa you should be aware of Tuberculosis and its symptoms. But you can get a vaccine before you go and/or get tested for TB upon your return. Since TB is passed on through coughing and sneezing you have to be at fairly close counters with a person infected with TB. If you are riding on public transport try to avoid passengers coughing a lot. Sleeping in hostels and visiting hospitals are also areas where TB tends to spread easily.
