"My friend and I were sitting in the shade of a large tree, as you might expect, having morning tea at Hilltop Lodge in the Hluhluwe Game Reserve in Kwazulu-Natal. The elephant suddenly appeared and made his way gradually toward where we were sitting. We were surprised when he turned towards the tourist center patio and slowly came toward us; and when he got too close, we all scattered and got ourselves into the relative safety of the center's lounge.
Apparently the elephant had decided that he liked the look of the leaves at the top of the large tree that was sheltering us, and all he wanted to do was enjoy a hearty breakfast. When he'd had his fill, he left and left a huge mess of branches and twigs and scattered leaves behind him."
