Erika Bloom, was a volunteer trip leader for the Appalachian Mountain Club (AMC), and now owns and runs Serengeti Pride Safaris based in Tanzania. Erika led a group to Northern Tanzania in Jan/Feb of 2007. The main areas visited were the Serengeti National Park and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
While game-watching is done from vehicles inside Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater, the group experienced fantastic hiking among the migrating wildlife herds and alongside rural Maasai tribes people in the Angata Kiti area of the Ngorongoro Conservation area. They also had amazing cultural interaction with the Hadzabe tribe of hunter-gatherers in the Lake Eyasi area.
