Zanzibar
- I wish I could remember the name of the "resort" (hardly, a collection of 6 cottages) but it was on the most stunning beach I've ever seen. We had come from hiking Kilimanjaro and a five-day overland safari so were worn out and looking forward to relaxing. The resort was run by siblings from the UK. No menu in the restaurant. The chef (one of the siblings) "consulted" with us on each meal - what kind of fresh fish did we prefer, what herbs, etc. Every night we would enjoy this fabulous meal and the heat of the day would be gone because every night the winds kick up. We got too much sun every day but it was just too beautiful not to be out in that crystal clear water. We planned only 3 days in Zanzibar and it was much too short. Hope to go back some day!
